Heavy rain could not dampen the spirits of Form 3, guests, residents and staff of Cedar Court care home at a wonderful event on Thursday. Cedar Court had invited us to commemorate the Great War and in particular the anniversary of the Gallipoli Campaign with them. On our arrival the children were marched in by soldiers and the young ‘volunteers’ and guests particularly enjoyed singing many old favourites such as ‘Keep the Home Fire Burning’, ‘it’s a Long Way to Tipperary’ and ‘Waltzing Matilda’. At the end of our visit, the ‘volunteers’ marched out to sign-up and collect their King’s Shilling, a memorable way to learn!
We hope this is just the start of a friendship with Cedar Court residents.
