A group of keen musicians from Forms 4 & 5 attended the prospective Music Scholars Workshop at Cranleigh School today. Sharing advice about all aspects of the scholarship audition process and requirements, such as what it means to be a scholar and how individuals can best prepare, Marcus Pashley and Catherine Beddison worked through the morning with discussion groups and presentations surrounding the supporting tests.
After lunch and a tour with CS music scholars, everyone worked on performance skills with Richard Saxel and thought about how to control their nerves before a big performance. There was then a short Masterclass, before the afternoon ended with a splendid Informal Concert showcasing talent from a cross section of schools. Aiming to help prospective candidates decide whether or not they would like to work towards an audition in the future, this was a thoroughly enjoyable and useful day.
